How to Create a Sales One-Pager That Converts

A sales one-pager is the document your prospect forwards to the people who actually approve the purchase. It has to sell on its own, without you in the room. Most one-pagers fail because they describe the product instead of the buyer's outcome. Here is how to build one that converts.

Lead with the outcome, not the company

Open with the result you deliver, framed around the buyer. "Cut onboarding time by 40%" beats "About our platform." The first thing a busy decision-maker reads should make them want to keep reading.

Speak to the buyer, not the user

The person who uses your product and the person who signs the cheque are often different. A sales one-pager has to satisfy the economic buyer: ROI, risk reduction, and how it compares to doing nothing. Write for the person who has to justify the spend.

Use proof, not adjectives

Replace "powerful" and "seamless" with evidence. A customer result, a metric, a recognisable logo. "Acme cut support tickets 30% in two months" persuades; "best-in-class solution" does not. Proof is what survives forwarding to a skeptic.

Make it scannable

Decision-makers skim. Use a clear headline, short sections, a few bold numbers, and white space. A wall of text gets set aside. The structure should let someone grasp the value in 20 seconds and find detail if they want it.

Include pricing or a clear next step

Hiding price creates friction. If you can, show pricing or at least a transparent range. End with one obvious next step: book a demo, start a trial, contact sales. A one-pager with no call to action is a dead end.

Design it to look credible

A clean, on-brand one-pager signals a serious company. Sloppy formatting makes buyers question everything else. You do not need to be flashy, you need to look like a company worth trusting with a budget.

The test

Hand your one-pager to someone who has never heard your pitch. Can they explain what you do, why it matters, and what to do next? If yes, it will survive being forwarded into a buying committee.
